My only point is about the word "amazing". Alfresco is everything but "amazing". Javascript and almost everything in Alfresco works only at runtime and never as expected (no error messages, no checks for bad configuration, ...).

Be sure you want Alfresco for your business, save headache not using it!

Alfresco suuuucks. It is developed by people without knowledge how to code. Code is flawed.

To configure just simple things such as ftp, smtp or webdav access you should use global search on hundreds of spring configs and when change configuration in 2 or 3 files synchroniously.

Extension mechanism is very poor and unprofessional. Web ui looks ugly. HTML markup is horrible.

Permission model in Alfresco sucks too. There is no ACL support or just mechanism to setup permission on node in JCR. System folder 'Data Dictionaly' is visible to all user and there is no correct way to hide it. If you hide, some of the system functions will silently fail.

JCR is sloooooooooooooooooooooow.

If someone will recommend you your boss to use it on production you should convince boss not to do (or just shoot that man).

Well said Sachin.

would like to add that there are not only rewards but we can be safe from embaracing situations like "The cat ate my code". Dev Machines are getting more stable every day but still are machines. we can expect any thing.

Me to had a bad experience at very early stage when half days work was lost just because I did not check in before going on for lunch break and the power plug was accidently swapped with new printer to be installed in the environment.

I removed my facebook, orkut and twitter account last friday. Except for FB orkut and twitter said the information would unrecoverable for me. I don't really care if third parties have it or not. I'm pissed with FB's response though. It seems you can not delete your account. You can only deactivate it and if later you change your mind you can just login using your old email/pwd and it will be just as well you never left. wtf? I know I know My bad I didn't read their privacy statement.

Well, this is a bit too late now. In fact, your personal details have gone beyond the initial sites you submitted them. Their partners and third party companies have your details on file.

As long as you use online shopping accounts, banks and Amazon, your details can never be totally removed again.

My advice is to pretend they are not there and hope the details are not used to impersonate you later in the not so distant future.

Good luck

I was organizing my websites registrations on a password manager and I was wondering the same thing.

I had way over 50 websites that I had registered to.

There should be a law that obliged websites to allow people to opt-out whenever they want...
