Alfresco is good, but JavaScript running on the server side is a nightmare. JavaScript needs to stay in the client where it was designed to work. We went that route with our first Alfresco project and we kept having to fix things left and right and plugging holes with square pegs. We are using the Java API this time around and things are coming along quite nicely.

Alfresco _IS_ amazing. I switched from sharepoint 2010 to this. sharepoint is the biggest nightmare.

My only point is about the word “amazing”. Alfresco is everything but “amazing”. Javascript and almost everything in Alfresco works only at runtime and never as expected (no error messages, no checks for bad configuration, …).

Be sure you want Alfresco for your business, save headache not using it!

Regarding – Ability to talk to Java logic – is this accomplished by packaging the external java as an Action or is there another method? I Haven’t tried this yet.
